Following a programme of experimental didactics based on group psychotherapy, D’ARC Foundation invites the public to a talk with the professionals involved in the project: Fabiana Albanese (MD, PhD, Psychotherapist), Michele Battuello (MD, PhD, Psychotherapist), and Nicole Guido (Professional Coach) of the association Sottocorrente, as part of the OpenToTheInsideOut project.

Building on Gabriele Silli’s solo exhibition Immenso Spermatozoo Sottomarino, the event will offer a public reflection on the series of Group Psychotherapy sessions centred on dreams and the collective sharing of dream experiences, which took place within Silli’s installation Io sono il plumbeo amo, l’intartarato, la corrente sottomarina... Conceived as a large inhabitable fish trap, the installation serves as a metaphor for the mind as a trap.

“In the logic of the abyss, whatever lies beneath is submerged; it cannot be seen. The same mechanism operates within the mind: whatever is unconscious remains hidden, beyond awareness. The architecture of the mind, the caves of thought, are therefore unexplored places. Moon landings reserved for a handful of the most intimate thoughts—trapped, monsters held captive.” writes curator Giuliana Benassi in the exhibition text. On the occasion of the talk, she will moderate a conversation focused on an invisible form of matter: the inner substance of the mind as a paradigm for interpreting images.
