Immenso Spermatozoo Sottomarino
Curated by Giuliana Benassi
13.06.2026 – 27.09.2026
D’ARC Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the solo show by artist Gabriele Silli, entitled Immenso Spermatozoo Sottomarino (Immense Submarine Spermatozoon), curated by Giuliana Benassi.
The exhibition brings together the artist’s recent research through two large-scale, site-specific installations conceived for the spaces of D’ARC Foundation, together with sculptural works that, like punctuation marks, dialogue with the display of the permanent collection.
The title of the exhibition, Immenso Spermatozoo Sottomarino (Immense Submarine Spermatozoon), unmistakably alludes to the origin of life, overturning its philosophical and biological dramaturgy into a grotesque vision that materializes as a kind of submarine partially emerging from the ground beneath the Foundation, bearing algae, debris, and remains from an abyssal world. Throughout the exhibition route, the works visually deepen the suggestion of something resurfacing from an elsewhere that is not clearly identifiable, except through an ambiguous metaphor merging the realms of the underwater and the subconscious.
